How it works
A picosecond pulse delivers energy to pigment particles almost instantly, breaking melanin into very fine fragments by a photomechanical shock wave; the fragments are then cleared by the body over the following weeks. The shorter the pulse, the less heat spreads into surrounding tissue, which lowers the risk of irritation and post-treatment darkening. Toning uses 1064 nm at low energy evenly across the whole face, while well-defined spots such as freckles and lentigines are treated point by point with 532 nm.

How long do PicoWay results last?
Melasma commonly darkens again with sun, hormones and lifestyle, so the maintenance interval after the programme is decided in consultation based on your progress. Using sunscreen consistently before and after treatment is the most important thing you can do to protect the result.
Does PicoWay hurt? Is anesthesia used?
Anesthesia: Usually not needed. Discomfort is about 2 on a 5-point scale.
What is the downtime after PicoWay — swelling and bruising?
