How it works
Botulinum toxin blocks the release of the signal (acetylcholine) from the nerve ending to the muscle, temporarily reducing the muscle's strength. It does this by cleaving a protein inside the nerve (SNAP-25); as the nerve sprouts new endings the strength gradually returns, and studies report this takes about 3–4 months on average. MIMISOME Busan uses four products: Coretox (Medytox, a 150 kDa neurotoxin with complexing proteins removed), Innotox (Medytox, liquid formulation), Xeomin (Merz, Germany, a pure toxin free of complexing proteins) and Hitox. Products without complexing proteins are designed to lower the risk of the body forming antibodies that weaken the effect with repeated treatment.
